 | ABOUT THE ARTIST
Although my concentration of art is in painting, I have studied other forms of art such as, piano, dance, singing and sculpture. I have been painting for over twenty years intermittently while raising my daughter Asha. Asha has been the subject of a vast majority of my paintings. Now that she is all grown up, she is my assistant and handles the administrative aspect of the business. While living in New York, I studied singing and performed cabaret shows with a singing workshop. I also keep dabbling in piano lessons and one day will be able to play some songs. I have recently enrolled in a sculpture workshop at Fort Mason in San Francisco and find it to be second nature to me. My steady job has been working in a law firm as a legal assistant. I always manage to incorporate my art in whatever atmosphere I am in. For example, when I worked for Pac Bell on a temporary assignment I was commissioned to do a painting for their reception area.
I use art to express my experiences and emotions. If I see something that touches me and I want to capture the moment for eternity, I will paint it. Art is my life, my soul and my peace of mind.
